How We Came To Be
Sassy Sweet Treats began when Chief Baking Officer, Jennie Broderick tweaked and perfected a cookie recipe handed down from a good friend, Amy. From the moment of perfection and several creative cookie varieties later, Jennie baked her delicious treats (upon repeated request) for family, friends and coworkers.
"Can you bring cookies to the party?" was a question the Queen of Sass frequently heard any time festivities were planned. It was not until she was posed with another question that Jennie's light bulb went off and Sassy Sweet Treats was born. Baking had always been a passion, passed down from her grandmothers and mother over the years. Considering it as a career, however, had never really crossed Broderick's mind until one day she was asked the fateful, "Have you ever considered selling these?" It was like a door had been opened into her soul that she never knew existed. Combining her love for baking, the enjoyment it brought those to whom she provided the baked goods, and the possibility of making it her daily job felt so right.
Jennie wasted no time in establishing Sassy Sweet Treats as a staple in the Jersey City, New Jersey Farmer's Market scene but set her goals higher hoping to one day provide the masses with her sweet confections. If you are reading this, it means the message is starting to spread.
